I’m thrilled to share some exciting updates as I reflect on a journey that has shaped both my personal and professional life. In 2019, I faced one of my toughest battles—cancer. Through faith, perseverance, and the support of loved ones, I overcame this challenge. This experience led me to write my book, “Ranks and Rosaries: A Soldier’s Journey from Battlefield to Battle Within”, which chronicles not only my military career but also my battle with cancer.
Since then, the book has become a bestseller, receiving widespread acclaim, including the Sahitya Sparsh Award for Indie Writers. I am honored to announce that I have also been conferred the Ashoka Award for Distinguished Service to the Nation, with a ceremony set for September 29th, 2024, at the Habitat Centre in New Delhi.
Moreover, I’m excited to share that my book will soon be available in Spanish, German, French, Malayalam, Hindi, and Chinese. These translations will be featured at global literary events, including the World Book Fair in New Delhi (Feb 2025) and the London Book Fair (March 2025). I’ve also been invited to receive the Emerging Author of the Year Award at the 3rd Kolkata International Literary Carnival (January 2025).
In support of cancer patients, all proceeds from Ranks and Rosaries go towards this cause, and we’ll be launching a Cancer Trust Program in mid-2025 to further our efforts.
I am also excited to announce that minor changes are being made to the book names in Hindi, German, Chinese, and French, while the English and Italian titles will remain the same. All versions are expected to be available by Christmas.
